My little FTG flavoured tribute to my local rugby team, the Crusaders, who last weekend won the Super Rugby competition for a record eighth time. They beat the Johannesburg based Lions 25-17 in an exciting final in Jo'burg. In doing so they became the first Super Rugby team to travel to South Africa and win the title.

My tribute is formed by reenacting their long trip home to Christchurch with a couple real-life of shots from the stadium and one on arrival.

From Ellis Park after the final whistle.

Crusaders coach Scott (Razor) Robertson celebrating becoming the first to win a Super Rugby title both as a player and a coach in his own distinctive style.

The next day, some seriously hung-over players made there way to join QF64 for Sydney...

Next it's time for the All Blacks, Jaguares, Springboks and Wallabies to go head to head in the Southern Hemisphere Rugby Championship.

I got up last at 2am to watch this game as it was basically NZ vs South Africa. Whitelock is Captain Caveman! Great set mate and well deserving Champions!

Sorry I meant the PUMAS, mind you the Jaguares were the only team other than the Crusaders to beat the Lions this year. I think the Crusaders are scheduled to go to BA to face the Jaguares in 2018, looking forward to that one!

It was a shock to see him clean shaven at the victory parade on Tuesday. Being a sesaon ticket holder I'm really delighted for coach Robertson. I have seen his work developing the younger players in the Canterbury NPC team over the past 4 years and its is really encouraging to see players like Jack Goodhue and George Bridge break through into the 'Big Team' with Goodhue knocking on the All Blacks door already. Watch out for the young half-back Jack Stratton in this years Mitre 10 cup he is my next tip for the big breakthrough. Razor will definitely be a future All Blacks coach. I'm also pleased for David Havili, before this season he was a fringe squad player. Under Robertson he has been invaluable to the team at full back displacing All Black Israel Dagg to the wing and now he has been called up to the All Blacks squad himself.

Great shots! It was one hell of a season. One hell of a treat to win. #Wedid I've said it was our year all season and fortunately I was right.

Now we turn our attentions to smashing the Aussies, Saffa's and Argentinians!
